Thank you to all of those that attended our caucuses. We had 524 votes cast in the Presidential Straw Poll between our two caucus locations (Mankato and Mapleton). The vote totals, which are also available from the Secretary of State web site, were:
Paul: 268 (51.15%)
Santorum: 157 (29.96%)
Romney: 65 (12.4%)
Gingrich: 32 (6.11%)
Other: 2 (0.38%)
Chat with local Republicans at our quarterly social hour, held at the Bell Tower Suites at 7 p.m. in Saint Clair. This informal gathering is a great chance to get to know other Republicans in Blue Earth County, talk about current events in Minnesota and the nation, and participate (if you wish) in a brief Executive Committee meeting. We may have one or more candidates for local and Minnesota office present as well. The Exec Committee meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served at 7 p.m.
Please join us for a Constitution Day Picnic on Saturday, September 17, in Spring Lake Park in North Mankato at Shelter #1, starting at 12 p.m.This event, hosted by the Blue Earth County Republicans and Nicollet County Republicans, is a great chance to learn and talk about our U.S. Constitution on the 224th anniversary of its signing. In addition to educational speakers, there will be food and entertainment.
Note: The Breakfast with Senator Rosen and Representative Cornish has been postponed due to just-announced budget meetings in the capitol which the legislators must attend. A new date will be announced when arrangements have been made.State Senator Julie Rosen (SD 24) and State Representative Tony Cornish (HD 24B) will be at the new Crystal Cafe in Lake Crystal to answer your questions about the 2011 Legislative Session, the shutdown, and their work and accomplishments in the legislature. The event starts at 8:30 a.m.

At its 2011 BPOU Convention, the Blue Earth County Republicans elected the following county officers for a two year term:
